Just in The Knitter issue 40, mollie Makes and Lets Knits

All are full of inspiration for the spring wether you knit, crochet or sew.
They are all available online or in the shop.

Inspiration is just what we need on these grey days.
I am feeling very inspired by the arrival at Woool of Lopi - Alafoss and Einband, just for starters!
But i am itching to start a iceland sweater and to try steeking! But need to finish 2 pairs of Madeline tosh socks, a milla mia baby cardi and a jared flood cardi pattern in Grignasco Loden!
So watch this space!

I hope that the Lopi will be on the site to order next week.
Also new at Woool are our own hand dyed yarns - W@W.
We have just dyed 2 new colours which will be available very soon!

a long worthwhile wait

madelinetosh - after been ordered in September, finally arrived on saturday.
But, oh boy, was it worth the wait.
The colours are so amazing, so deep and vivid.
It is now available to order online or of course in the shop - until it is sold out!

We have sock yarn (€24) and Merino (€17.00)

In 2011 i took part in the cookieA sock club, receiving hand dyed yarns and exclusive sock patterns 6 times a year as usual with these things i had no time(!) to knit any of the socks- of course way too busy with other projects!
Then I received the tosh and the last installment is the sock club and as if by magic i had the perfect sock yarn and pattern so the hippity hop dragon was born

Just one last word for those of you planning to visit woool on 24th January, i am sorry to tell you that we will be closed - a trip to Berlin means the shop will be closed for just 1 day.

i am sorry if this causes you any inconvenience, but we will be open as normal on Saturday and Wednesday

New magazines

Coming very soon to Woool- Interweaves new magazines - Knit .wear and Knitting Traditions 2.
Knit.wear - is full of simple models but using new techniques and Knitting Traditions 2 will carry on the good work of Knitting Traditions 1, in re creating the traditionally methods of knitting.
For the Crocheters out there Interweave Crochet Fall 2011 is also on the way, with more patterns and techniques for the colder months.
Lets Knit and the Knitter are also on the way from England.
Along with the much hyped Mollie Makes - issue 5 promises to carry on the high quality that we have quickly come to expect from Mollie Makes.

All the magazines will be available to order on line as soon as they are in store.

We are virtually over flowing with new yarn!
This week has seen the arrival of the Winter collection of Adriafil - as always the Italian company has come up with new yarns included the yarn that is knit using your arms - see photo!
Also a really nice extra fine wool Pastello - knit on 10-12mm - i am making the Pembroke wrap from Interweave Knits fall 2011
For on a 12mm we have Adriafil Mito - a thick and thin textured yarn- a really quick knit.
And, as always lovely Sierra Andina - 4ply Alpaca yarn - this i am using to make the Wheat Field Scarflette from Interweaves Weekend 2011.

We have just received the patterns from Zijmaakthet - the world renown Jacobus the monkey, Joris the dragon and Karel the rabbit.
Of course i had to cast one on so Jacbus in on my needles in Araucania Lauca and Rico Alpaca dk- i think he will be finished by Sunday!
The patterns will be on the website today, at this moment they are only in Dutch but the English version is on the way

And one last note - Madeline Tosh is on its way - 5 colours of sock yarn and 4 colours of the worsted weight merino.
Aslan Trends are also on the way with new Alpaca yarns - Baby LLama and Alpaca Melange.

Over the past few weeks we have had an influx of new yarns!
Most of the winter collection from Rico is on including the wonderfully soft Alpaca Dk and Chunky- i have been waiting for this yarn since i ordered it several months ago!
Now the problem is what to make?
Araucania Ranco, Azapa and Lauca are in - such wonderful rich colours.
Louisa Harding Grace and Millais are also in stock- both so wonderfully soft!
We are just awaiting patterns for everything!
Finally Mollie Makes has arrived, making me feel very inadequate! i want to make everything and all NOW!!

Tonight - Friday 26th August - is the first meeting our the Brei'nBabbel avond after the summer break, so if you would like to join us we will be here in the store from 18.00 to about 21.00 and you are more than welcome to join us.

I am trying to get everything on the website asap but please bear with me- it does take time!

The winter is coming

Well it may not seem like it as you look out of your window, but winter is on its way!
The Rico yarns have started to arrive - with the new Eco Tinto - eco wool that is dyed in lovely jewel colours, and the new Cashlana Dk- in soft colours this merino and Cashmere yarn is just wonderful.

Holiday time!

The holiday is Spain was fantastic - if i must complain and being English i must!, the weather was a little on the warm side- 44' most of the time but that didn't stop us finding LYS wherever we went!
So Cadiz, Seville en El Puerto de Santa Maria en Jerez all have knitting stores.
In Seville we found lovely knitted flamenco shawls - see photo.

Quick bits of shop news - we are closed Tuesday(19th) and Wednesday (20th) July - i am in England for a few days. But the shop will be open Thursday.

Interweaves Weekend and Knitscene are in store and online to order.

Tulip planting

In honour of Wkip and International Yarn bombing day we knitted tulips and planted them on the Lange Voorhout in Den Haag.
We had about 40 tulips planted in the sunlight, they were beautiful!
And low and behold as we stood and watch people started to come up and see what we were doing, asking questions and taking the tulips away - it was a wonderful feeling, seeing that people had appreciated our work and that we had made others smile!
A lady took away a tulip to give to her daughter that was at home studying - exactly what we wanted to happen! i know it made all of us feel warm inside
So a big thank you to everybody who made tulips and helped us planted them.

Exciting news

There are lots of things happening at Woool!
Firstly it is World Knit in Public Day on Saturday 11th June.
i hope this year will be good weather- not like last year!
We will be knitting on the Grote Markt at the Boterwag, the closest bar to the Tram stop - Grote Markt.
I hope we will be there from 11.30 - both Yoff and i have workshops so we need to be organized!
Please come and join us - everybody is more than welcome.
We will also be planting our hand made Tulips- more on that as the plans are finalized.

23 June is Shoppingnight Den Haag -www.shoppingnight.nl- this is one night every year when the shops in the centre of Den Haag are open until 12am!
We will be joining in and launching the first of our monthly First Aid (EHBO kliniek) clinic.
Yoff and i will be on hand to, hopefully, solve all your knitting and crocheting problems.
On this evening there will be 10% discount in the store.

There will also be a small change in opening times at the end of June.
I will be on holiday and so Yoff will be in the store to help you out.
We will be open from 11.00 to 16.00 - Tuesday 28th June to Saturday 2nd July.
Tuesday 5th July we will be closed.
With things been back to normal on Wednesday 6 July.

There is a new crafting magazine in England called Mollie Makes.
it covers a wide range of crafts, styling and living ideas.
It is a really nice magazine and i am happy to say we will be stocking it very soon

We will be open tomorrow - hemelvaartsdag - from 10.00 to 17.00.
So please drop by - we will be knitting tulips from our installation for WKiP day.

New this week at Woool - 2 new colours from Zitron Hand Art - Como and Kent.
Como has shades of purple and Kent has shades of pink.
- New colours in Filigran and Filisilk - Turquoise and cream in the Filigran and Light green in the Filisilk.
- Millamia is also back in stock with a full range of colours
Workshops for June - The learn to knit workshop on 4th June is full - the next one is 27th July and there is only one space left!
- 8th June see the start of a workshop to make baby clothes - so if you have just learned to knit and want to take things a step further then this would be a good workshop for you, or if all your friends are pregnant then this is the perfect gift for you to make!
- 11th June sees the start of a learn to crochet workshop.

11th June is also World Knit in Public Day and Internationally Yarnbombing day!
So come and join us on the Grote Markt in Den Haag from 11.00 to 13.00.

Keep knitting through the summer - cotton is really nice to knit with or even silk, linen.....

It is a really a good idea for using up those oddments in your stash.

Charity Events at Woool

Charity Events at Woool

The Afghan for Afghanistan was won by Yoff Kau - congratulations

The hand made bag from George with Ears was won by Anne Woulter - congratulations

We raised a total amount of €165 for AfghanAid - a great total.

This will be given to AfghanAid via Kim Cartwright who is running 10km in London on 31 May to raise from money for AfghanAid. Good luck to her.

The cake bake was also a great sucess - with lots of cakes being made and eaten.

We raised €125 and this will be given to the Red Cross to hepfund their work in Japan.

A big thanks to everybody who helped out and who bought cakes/tickets.

We will be closed from 15.00 today.
I will be at the Outpost Annual Courses Fair at Shell, hopefully getting people to come and join the Workshops at Woool.
For all of you who have no connection with Shell - there are new workshops on the website.
Also new on the website are summer yarns from Aslan Trends and the new colours in Jawoll Degrade from Lang.
And of course madelinetosh - but for this you will have to come quickly, it is almost sold out!
It is Knitting evening tomorrow, if you want to come and join us . We will be starting our preparation for WKP day and International Yarn bombing day - 11th June

Other news is we raised €138.50 with the Cake sale - fantastic!
Thanks so much to everybody for your support in making cakes, organising the day and of course eating the cakes!
The money will all be going to the Red Cross to help Japan.

This Friday is our Charity Cake sale and raffle.

The blanket we, at Woool, are making to be raffled for AfghanAid, is almost finished.
It has been a labour of love with lots of help from many customers and friends.

Its a strange name for yarn but Rico Loopy is now in stock and available to order online.
It is the yarn of the moment with easy to knit ruffles scarf - the pattern is free with the yarn.
Knitscene Summer has not yet arrived it seems that something has gone a miss with the post, so i will let you know when it is in.

Well today i have given in to popular demand - Rico Loopy and Can-Can are on order!
So for the summer you can knit yourself or somebody else a wonderfully ruffly scarf.

Also coming this month is Madelinetosh - i for one can't wait i have patterns sorted out. First will be Zilboorg socks (a free pattern from Madelinetosh) and will be Tea Leaves cardi, also a Madelinetosh pattern that will be available in the shop with the yarn.
But i need to finish SOME projects first.
My Wray cardi is almost finished, just the sleeves to do, i have an almost finished project in Lang Sol Degrade and most importantly a pair of socks for Mothers Day( it is on Sunday in England!) to finish.

So i am off to get knitting

Charity Knit

We are about to embark on a Charity Knit project and need your help.
We are knitting squares that will make an afghan to be raffled to raise money for Afghan Aid.
So we need as many 20 x 20cm squares as possible. They can be knitted in wool, cotton, whatever you would like and then assembled together to form a beautiful blanket.
so if you would like to join in - please send the squares to us at Woool or bring them to the shop and i will post pictures so we can see how far things are progressing.

Please help out if you have the time - it is the perfect way to use up your odd little bits of wool! and for a worthy cause!

Well the website is up and running and hopefully with no more glitches!
It is taking me a little longer to get things up on the site as it is now more involved and i need to put everything in Dutch, which means i need help!
So thanks to all of those people helping me!

I am hoping to have got all the Lang Summer yarns up by the end of today.

The new colours in Mini Mochi arrived yesterday - i think they are the best so far - pictures to follow later.

Equally exciting is the arrival of the new Zitron Filisilk - Filigran with the addition of silk - so a laceweight yarn with merino and silk.
The colours are great, really rich and vibrant with a great glossy shine.
I am hoping they will be on the website today or tomorrow.

The Knitter and Lets knit new editions are in stock and they ARE on the website!

well back to the grind stone, just enough time to tell you it is Brei'nBabbel Avond tomorrow night - so please come and join us - you can see all the new yarns in real life!

Well today with the sun shining through the window on all the beautiful colours it feels like summer really is here.
It just a pity we don't have the heat yet!
With regards to the website, the new one is up and running- we are just smoothing out the little wrinkles but the new Lang Yarns will be on the site, hopefully for the weekend.
If you can't wait then just pay us a visit, everything is out in the shop for you to see.
We also have the fabulous Stepehn West patterns in store, including his new book - Westknits 2.
We also have a selection of Ysolda Teague patterns including Ishbel and Damson.
They,too, should be online next week.
I heard yesterday, that Zitron have a next lace weight yarn - the Filigran but then with silk!I will let you know when they are in store.

Lang summer yarns arrived yesterday - so we are ready for the summer with beautiful yarns, not only from Lang but also from Rico, Adriafil and Aslan Trends.
As soon as i have the wall finished i will post photos.

Madelintosh will arrive sometime next month.

Here at Woool we are patiently waiting for the new summer yarns!
I am expecting them anytime, but the sooner the better - we could do with somelight in these grey days!
On the good news front - there is new Aslan Trends in store and new Filitay, new colours in Zitron Filigran and Hand art - i hope they will be on the website later today.

Also on the good news front - on 9th April there is a baby fair from Doula Den Haag and Greatexpections.nl - so for the mothers out there there will be everything you need for your baby and all the proceeds go to charity.

More good news - my light box is a great success- i would really recommend it to anybody who suffers from the winter blues.

finally a new post

My apologizes for being away so long, i really have no excuses just to say, luckily it has been so busy in the shop, i have had not so much time to keep the blog up to date!
But now things are not as busy i have more time.

The first of the summer yarns are in - from Rico. There is a really nice linen, viscose and cotton mix, in earthy colours.
A DK cotton in tonal shading in muted tones - Iro and a super chunky cotton nylon mix in strong colours.
These are all available on the webshop.

Talking of my website, some time in February we will be launching a new site which will be easier to navigate, with better photos and the chance to book workshops online.

To try and get us through these grey months - there will be new yarns in the store - we already have the lovely Millamia - this is a Swedish yarn made specially for babies and toddlers and with great pattern support.It is available online.

When i have written this blog i am going to order madelinetosh yarns - a hand dyed range of yarns from America and also with great pattern support.

There will also be a wider range of products from Aslan Trends and Zitron.

As those you know me will tell you - i hate grey weather but am slowly developing tips and tricks to get me through the dark days.

Brei n babbel avond

Friday night_ 26th November is knitting evening at Woool.
Please come and join us, i am sorry it is such short notice! And even if the snow gets us at least we will be cosy and warm.
The shop is busy, busy but we still have lovely things in stock.
Zitron limited edition Filigran, is one lovely idea - you still have time to knit a laceweight shawl before Christmas!
The lovely Filitaly, the alpaca from Italy, is on re order, but there is still enough to make something nice and warm.
There are big changes ahead from Woool for 2011, so keep your eye on this space!
The new workshops for 2011 should be on the website by the end of the month, they will include fairisle mittens, lacey shawls and crocheted jewellary.
I hope there will be something from everyone

Well the Filitaly has arrived - and it is so fantastic. Full of alpaca and soft very soft.
Most of the colours are natural colours, apart from those with a lurex thread!
The Bariloche and Santa Fe from Aslan Trends are also really nice.
There will be pictures soon, i promise, and i hope tomorrow they will be on the shop to order.
Interweave Holiday Knits 2010 came in today.It is full of ideas for every kind of present you can imagine and then more beside!
It is available to order on line.
Next week the new colours from Filigran, the laceweight yarn from Zitron, will be in.

That is all apart from to say it is knitting evening tomorrow - if you want to come down and join us - you are more than welcome any time after 18.00 - the evening will have a halloween theme, so come suitably dressed.

Its a while since i have been here- i am sorry, but the shop has been so busy! nice eh?
News in the shop - Aslan trends should be in with new yarns and colours, next week.
Filitaly - alpaca from Italy, will also be in soon.
A new yarn for Woool, mainly undyed and different weights of Alpaca, all at a very good price.
Lace weight yarn from Estonia is also on the way - defiantly a wool yarn, it is no soft and full of lanolin but a joy!
And there are new Be Sweet yarns - a laceweight boucle mohair, hand spun merino and the bubble ball - see photo.

Workshops coming up are a finishing workshop - 27th october
30th october sees a beginners sock workshop
03 nov - is a more intermediate sock workshop, beginning with the toe and using magic loop.

As some of you will know i am an avid Vogue reader - and to my surprise what do i find in this month's British Vogue but an article on knitting for this season - not only is there alot about - check out D&G, but Selfridges ( the department store on Oxford Street in London), is working with the guerilla knitter - Yarn Bombers - to create window display!
And the holy mecca to all the fashionastas "Browns Focus" on South Molton Street, london , is stocking Wool and the Gang!
So get your knitting needles out!

A small foot note, a selction on new Lang yarns are in stock, Hopefully there will be more next week!

The sun might be shining outside but, here at Woool, we are keeping warm with the lovely new yarns!

New in this week are the chunky yarns for Adriafil - baba, thick and thin super chunky, that will felt, nina, a lovely soft yarn with the addition of sequins, other yarns have glitter, sheep like texture, tonal shading in other words something for everybody.
I have set my mum to work knitting up the samples!
I hope to start putting thing on the web site next week.
On the Debbie Bliss front, Andes arrived! it is so unbelievably soft and beautiful, i will cast it on at the weekend and hopefully will have something to show you next week!

There is also new Be Sweet on the way - extra fine kid mohair, superchunky and chunky yarns- yummy!!

For those of you who missed Designer Knitting( vogue knitting ) the first time round, it will be back in next week.

Art Viva sets and loose needles will also be back in stock sometime within the next few weeks!

after a week of hard work - not that i am complaining, i have decided to reward myself with a day off.
So we will be closed tuesday 31 august.
My parents are also over so it is another excuse to have a day off!
The winter yarns are selling well, i think that this horrible weather helps- nobody wants to leave the comfort of their armchairs!
Lang yarns - i hope- will be in next week.
For those of you who are avid shawl knitters we are giving you an excuse to knit another shawl - we are starting a mystery shawl swap that will run for october to january .

YIppee the new winter yarns are starting to arrive in earnest!
The start of the Debbie Bliss and Araucania have arrived today.
Como is in, in new soft colours, the new yarn Glen, with its soft shading is also in.
Along, with new colours in rialto dk and aran, cashmerino in baby, dk and aran, luxury tweed in aran and chunky.
So enough to get you going!
With Araucania, my fav Toconao has new colours in stock, Aysen is back in, in wonderfully bright colours.
There are new pattern books too from Debbie Bliss.
Please keep your eye on the website if you want to order- it will take me while to put them all up.

Textile artist Victoria Logan (www.victorialogan.co.uk) has made and exclusive collection of Critters for Woool.
They are hand made animals, made from lambswool,felted and each critter is individual!
They are are now available on line.

Rico are the first in store with their winter yarns, they are really interesting karafuru is an chunky astrakhan yarn, tasia is an aran weight slightly fluffy yarn with graduated colours, creative melange is a chunky, graduated yarn.
The there is big and super chunky - the names need no explanation!
I will be taking them all home to try this weekend- but i am hoping it will be too warm to knit them!
Unfortunately they won't be on the website until early next week, but they are all in store for you to come and fondle!

I have started a shawl project that is easy but in the Aslan trends Royal Alpaca - it is beautiful and will only take 2 skeins so that means it is not too much knitting! and also not so expensive.
New in the store is are Zitron xxl and hand art in new colours and Filigran- a lace weight yarn from Zitron. all are available on the webshop.
The new yarns and patterns are not in yet but will come in over the next few weeks - hopefully we won't need them just yet - i am sure that summer has not finished.

workshops going on at the moment are
25th August - finishing workshop - so you can get all those projects lying at the bottom of you bag, finished.
28th August - learn to knit workshop - so you will be ready to knit those lovely scarves for the winter
01 sept - socking knitting from the toe up and on circular needles
a workshop coming up is 2 socks at the same time - this will be a 3 hour workshop on sunday 3 october and should be fun!

a big suprise

This morning a big surprise came in a delivery from UPS - the Royal Alpaca from Aslan Trends. It wasn't that i had forgotten about it, i just wasn't expecting it!
But it is so beautiful and soft and such lovely colours - it retails for €14.50 for 100g , but that is for an amazing 200m!
I am rushing home tonight to cast on the oscilloscope shawl ( Kate gagnon Osborn) from this months knitscene. i will let you know tomorrow how wonderful it really is.
It is already to order on the webshop.
Along with this yarn was the new copy of Nicky Esptein's book - Enchanting Collection. Her first collection with Aslan Trends, with beautiful patterns as you would expect from Nicky. - also available to order on line for €15.00.

Well this time last week i was in a CookieA workshop, having my brain totally battered by the most maths i done in many a year!
it was a very interesting workshop and it was great to be with so many like minded people but i think i will leave sock designing to others!
The market place was very interesting, lots and lots of people( many Dutch) and lots of beautiful yarns, after being highly restrained i bought Malabrigo lace weight and sock yarn, Fyberspates lace cashmere ( just in 2 colours!) only 1 skein Wolmeise.
And not a project in mind!
I think the red Fyberspates Cashmere will become another layering shrug ( see earlier posting)
Back to news in the shop.....there are new colours from Trekking XXL and Hand art on their way, also with the new lace weight yarn from Zitron.
The winter yarns will start coming in, in about 3 weeks or so.The Debbie Bliss will not be in until September.
But the new yarns are very exciting - lots of strong colours from Lang and a new yarn and pattern book made specially for felting.
Debbie Bliss has 2 new lovely yarns, new pattern books and of course the new magazine.
All exciting stuff!!!

Brother KH-940 - a computerised machine with lots of accessories. This machine is for yarns that knit up on 3.5mm to 4mm knitting needles. The asking price for this machine is around €800 - €1000 but it is open to offers.

The 2nd machine is a Brother KH-260, for chunkier yarns, and also with lots of accessories.
The asking prices is in the area of €350 but it is also negotiable.

A good price can be made if you take both!!

It is not often that this happens - i have finished a project and 1 sock, not 2 yet, just one!
so i thought i should share them with you.
The bolero is a free pattern from loop, a knitting shop in london. The patterns is on their blog -http://www.loopknitlounge.com/
I have made it in Lonco from Aracunia.
The sock is from Elise Duvekot's book " knit 1 below" and it is made in Lang sock yarn.

Well the big day is here and what is the weather doing for us - sunshine and showers!!!we are hoping the showers have past by the time we are going to be outside.
If not you will find us maybe in de boterweg, but as they are showing the Holland match, maybe this will be a good idea but then maybe not - it will add an element of excitement! ( and noise)

Saturday 19th June is the start of a new learn to knit socks workshop- there is still a free place or 2 if you want to join us
Saturday is also world knit in public day here in Den Haag, we will be taking our needles or hooks down to the grote markt and knitting outside de boterweg.

friday 7 may is our knitting evening here in the store - please come down and join us.
it is free and just for fun, so if you need advice or inspiration you are more then welcome to join us.

There will also be more information about world knit in public day- this year it is not only on one day but spread over a week in june, but there will be more news next week about exact dates - i am thinking knitting on the grote markt on saturday and then knitting at the beach on the sunday! sounds like fun hey?

the other bit of good news is that i managed to find the verena ( a knitting magazine in dutch that is modern) in my local, very small albert heijn! this can only mean that knitting is getting more popular!

a rainy queens day

we did it- we stood in the rain and sold our wares!
it was fun and we will be back next year, bigger and better and not wet!
For those people who came to see us and we weren't there - my apologies!
we were there from about 6.00am and by 11.30 we were still happy but wet and cold so decided it was better to quit while we were ahead, but of course what happened - the sun cam out later!

we have just received the new knitscene special - knitscene easy.
It was all the information that new knitters need to progress further than garter st..
It has simple easy steps and diagrams, but also with challenging and inspiring patterns.
All in all well worth while the €11 for a reference book!
other news here in the store - adriafil summer yarns have arrived - sol levante is my favourite - a mixture of silk, cotton and linen.
It has a nubby texture with several shades of the same colour running through it! and it is a double knitting yarn.
i can't wait to get it on the needles but first i must finish something!
4 projects on the go is enough at one time, i feel.

We are still here and knitting hard.
most of the new yarns for the summer are in - fantastic new colours from araucania.

Rico has a new great micro fibre yarn out- it is a self striping dk, and great for those of you who are allergic to wool and don't like cotton.

The perfect magazine has arrived from knitting holiday gifts - interweave accessories - it is a special edition bringing together many patterns from different sources and putting in one magazine. It has scarf and hat patterns, sock and glove patterns. in my opinion it is one of the best magazines of the year!

The Knitter issue 12 has also arrived and lets Knit, both are full of interesting and fun projects for the cold winter months.

The last few workshops for 2009 are now beginning 21 November sees a workshop where you can learn to crochet christmas decorations - you must be able to crochet for this workshop

02 december is a learn to make socks workshop, there are still free places on this workshop

Friday 13th is unlucky for some...but not for pink ribbon and woool - together we are hosting a Pink Ribbon day long event.
There will be a chance to win fantastic prizes in our raffle, a chance to buy pieces of hand made bunting.
At the same time, in store will be your chanve to relax and knit away with the help from cupcakes from Jennifer, cheesecake from the cheescake company and lots of lovely things from Kelly's ex pat sotre.
At the same time you will be able to have reflexology, or reiki treatment for a some donation to Pink Ribbon.

Interweave crochet is in - and available to order on line.

The new Debbie Bliss magazine should be in store next week. It has been late all over Europe but finally......
Lang sock yarn is reduced in price until the end of the month - come on down and spend €5.00 instead of €7.50.
The website will be updated this week with new winter yarns ready for you to knit christmas presents, warm hats and scarves the the coming winter.

the new interweave knits weekend 2009 is online to order.
I am sorry but due to the cost of postage from America the cost of the magazines has gone up to €11 per magazine.
But you are still getting your money's worth with the number of pattern on the magazines.

Finally the majority of Debbie Bliss is in!! and it is lovely
With new richer and deeper colours and the lovely new Fez - 85% merino and 15% camel hair - it is soft very soft

i will start putting it on the website today but please bear with me, it is not quick!

I have new araucania yarns in - the most beautiful Toconao - a hard twist 100% merino wool, with an aran weight.
I am using it to knit the central park hoodie and it is so beautiful.
and Azapa - a mix of alpaca, merino, silk and donegal - it is a beautifully soft yarn

first bit of exciting news is that the new list of workshops will be on the blog and the website by the end of today - i hope.
Please forgive me if it is not as i always need to do the paperwork for the belasting dienst!

there are several new workshops and also new workshops for crochet.

The designer Knitting magazine is in - full of nice projects to see you through the long winter evenings.

On the new yarn front - there are new yarns in from Rico- Poem- an aran weight self striping yarn, that is also suitable for felting
and at €5.00 for 100% wool not too expensive
Also new from Rico is a 100% merino yarn with a really hard twist.
I am making a hat in this at the moment so as it is finished i will most a picture
Hopefully the new yarns will be available to order on line by the end of the day

It is our knitting evening on friday night - 4 sept - please come amd join us from 18.00 onwards

fall magazines

The knitter issue 8 and lets Knit september are both in-stock and available to order online or in the shop.
Both or full of end of summer knits, using lots of colour.

At the moment in store we have some of the cotton based yarns of the summer on sale.
Many lang yarns are reduced including taris, lucia, panarea and Kappa, in the self striping yarns.
Debbie Bliss Stella is also reduced as it is no longer available. So get it while you can.
Lang super soxx colour sock yarn is als oreduced from €7.50 to €5.00

The new winter yarns will be available from the end of August, there are already sample of the lang yarns in the shop to wet your appetite.
We also have a small collection of Crystal Palace Mini Mochi and mochi plus in store - retailing at €7.50 per 50g ball.
The yarn is a 80% wool and 20% nylon mix, with a long colour change - similar to Noro.
Mini Mochi is a sok fingering weight while Mochi Plus is an aran weight.
The top picture is mini mochi in feldspar and the underneath picture is mochi plus in jungle

There will be new workshops for the winter on the webshop from next week.
We will be offering more crochet workshops as well as new, exciting knitting workshops

The Interweave Knits and Knitscene are now in stock.
Both are the fall 2009 editions and are full of must have knits for the coming winter months.
Lots of cables and colour work in both hats and sweaters

If you are hoping to join on sunday for the Yarnies Picnic, we will be meeting at 12pm in the car park of Knus, on the edge of the Delftse Hout.
Check out the website WWW.knus.nl for directions.
If you are coming with the tram from Den Haag you can take the number 1 and then there is a short walk at the other end.

For those of you who want to join us but can't - it is the Brei'nbabbel avond tonight- from 6pm onwards here in the shop.
If the weather stays good then we may well go and knit outside so try and be here by 7pm or there will be directions to our meeting place in the shop window.

In conjunction with idlehands ( idelhands.nl) and penelope craft(penelopecraft.com) woool is organizing a picnic event in Delft.
The idea is that all craft lovers are more then welcome, bring your wip, your picnic and your friends and enjoy the day.

Woool is closed for a few days at the end of june.
The shop is closed 29, 30 june and 1st july.
It will be open as usual on sat 27 june, thurs 2 july, fri 3rd july and sat 4 july - with Yoff as i will be on holiday.
She is a "wonderwitch" with her knitting skills so she will be able to advise and guide you

i will be back in the shop from tuesday 7th july.

As from Monday 6 july Woool will be closed on a monday, until september - so just for the summer months.
but if it is the only time you can come let me know and i will open by appointment, of course.

This was a great success - thanks to everybody who can and supported the world of knitting .
here are the photos from the day.
We were blessed with lovely sunshine -so things couldn't have been better.
A big thank you to everybody who made it and a big thank you for Yoff being in my shop so that i could go and play!
